We Have Not Banned Osimhen – NFF Debunks On Osimhen’s Ban

Reports in certain online sites on Wednesday claiming that the football governing body had criticized the suspension of Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen for his recent outburst on social media were vehemently denied by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) as pure lies.

Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, the general secretary of the NFF, expressed shock at the reports and stated that the player has not been banned from the National Team by the Federation, nor has a process been completed to do so.

The NFF hereby begs the media to work with the organization to constructively settle conflicts and then constantly concentrate on the larger picture, instead of needlessly exacerbating specific concerns. Despite the lack of an official statement from the NFF, several people have traveled to the city to discuss banning Osimhen from the National Team. This is really not good.

“Right now, we want to put an end to everything related to the Super Eagles so that we can confidently look forward to the 2025 AFCON qualifiers and the final six games of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification series.”

“Now is not the moment to sow disinformation and contaminate public areas even more.”
