Two managers of a restaurant, Kingfisher, located in Lekki, will be charged to court for breaking the seal that the Lagos State government used to close the restaurant.
This was disclosed in a post on the official X (formerly Twitter) of the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) on Monday.
LASEPA said in a statement that the two managers of Kingfisher Restaurant were arrested in the early hours of Monday after starting full operations.
“During the routine inspection of the buildings that were sealed last night, the Commissioner for Environment, Tokunbo Wahab, and the General Manager (GM) of LASEPA, Tunde Ajayi, discovered that Kingfisher, a house located in Lekki, in national seals and running operations in the entire range,” the company wrote.
“The Governor, the security team of Babajide Sanwo-Olu, provided security, and the two officers were arrested at about 12:30 am with the assistance of the Chief Security Officer (CSO) to the Governor .”
LASEPA added that the two officers will be charged in court today (Monday) and face the maximum consequences of their actions.
Meanwhile, LASEPA has also confirmed that its operators have shut down some entertainment centers in Lekki Phase 1 on Saturday due to environmental pollution.
Some of the establishments affected are Red Bar, Kingfisher, Sea Lounge, HOV Lounge, Circa, Bolivar and Bay Lounge.
