Xabi Alonso has declared that he will lead Bayer Leverkusen again the following campaign.
Liverpool and Bayern Munich have expressed interest in signing the former Spain midfield player in advance of the summer.
However, Alonso said in a Friday media appearance that he is content to stay with the Bundesliga leaders.
“The players give me so many reasons to keep believing in the team, and I have a great staff that helps me every day to work better, improve, and prepare the team,” he stated.
Their dedication, thirst, and hunger make me feel that my work is not done yet.
When all of that is considered, I think that this crucial choice is the proper one. Though time will tell as I am still young, I am content right now.
