Military Plane Crashes In Abuja, Kills 7
Seven people were killed after a military plane crashed a few meters from the runway at Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport.
Confirming the incident on Sunday, Nigerian Air Force (NAF) spokesman Vice Air Marshal Ibikunle Daramola stated that the Beechcraft KingAir B350i plane crashed while returning to Abuja airport after reporting an engine failure at the Minna route.
Vice Marshal Daramola further stated that first responders were already at the scene and added that all seven of the personnel on board were killed in the accident.
According to the statement of the NAF spokesman published on Twitter, the Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Vice Marshal Oladayo Amao ordered an immediate investigation into the accident.
While urging the general public to remain calm and await the outcome of the investigation, the CAS, on behalf of all Nigerian Air Force personnel, sympathized with the families of the deceased.
