Kemi Ade who has been in the choir for almost two decades, debuts the visual of her newest single titled, ‘It Is You.’

Produced by Wole ‘Mr. Wols ’Adesanya, and released on October 10 to all digital platforms.

The single was relaunched to the public consciousness with a video.

“The inspirational single It Is You is a song that everyone can relate to regardless of ethnicity, culture and religion. In addition to singing primarily in English, my use of the three main Nigerian languages, Hausa, Ibo and Yoruba, was an additional creative element to the inspiring work, ”Ajumobi says of her new song.

Colourful visuals also accompany the new release. The video which was shot by award-winning video director Akin Alabi is currently on YouTube.

Speaking on the theme of the song, Ajumobi said that it is God who has been there for her in times of trial and pain.

“Everything I needed to convince myself to go ahead to make this song happened. I am glad that I followed my heart and I am grateful to God that he is already blessing many people, ”she said.

Continuing, the poet-turned-singer said, “Sometimes enjoying God’s presence in your privacy is not enough for the one who gave you the gift. We are all assigned to the earth to use our gifts to bless humanity. If you are going to teach, teach well, if you are going to learn, learn well, if you are going to sing, sing well… whatever gift God has given you, make sure you use it well because if you don’t, He will find another. Remember, God doesn’t have your duplicate, but He has your substitute. “

Ajumobi further described her debut song as a relief.

“Singing comes naturally to me, I love to speak, worship and preach at the event. Music for me is very deep because it has a way of resonating with what you are going through if you find and listen to the right kind of music. “

A poet and speaker, Kemi is officially the Associate Editor of BusinessDay Media Limited and also the Director of Women’s Desk. She is the initiator and coordinator of the annual Inspiring Woman Series conference which currently runs in its 10th year.
