Goodluck Jonathan Finally Responds To Speculations Of His 2023 Presidential Ambition

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has repeatedly argued that it is too early to start discussing the 2023 election. According to The Nation, the former president gives that answer every time he is asked if he has any plans to run in the next presidential election. 

The publication also reported that the growing relationship between Jonathan and some leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), is causing anxiety in the Popular Democratic Party (PDP).

The newspaper claimed that PDP members are uncomfortable with the frequency of the former president’s visits to the presidential villa in recent times.

He said the party was puzzled that when the last of such visits occurred on December 15, 2020, neither Jonathan nor the presidency said a word about the purpose of the former president’s visits. 

The opposition party was also said to have been disturbed by rumors that the APC might consider the former leader for its 2023 presidential bid. However, Jonathan has kept mute over his sudden closeness to the ruling party and his speculated presidential ambition of 2023.
