FRSC Ogun State Command to Crack Down on Vehicles Carrying Humans with Animals
The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Ogun State Command, says it will impound any vehicle found carrying human beings together with animals.
The warning was announced by the FRSC Sector Commander Ogun, Anthony Uga, during a briefing with newsmen on Friday in Ota, Ogun State.
Uga emphasized the necessity of this warning due to the dangerous practice of drivers transporting human beings along with animals, leading to fatal road accidents.
He mentioned that the FRSC recently engaged with animal dealers at the Kara area on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway to educate them about the risks associated with such practices.
According to Uga, investigations by the FRSC revealed that many drivers violate this rule without the knowledge of the animal owners being transported, and strict penalties will be enforced on offenders.
“Anybody caught will be punished and his vehicle impounded,” Uga stated.
