Edwin Clark Criticizes Northern Governors’ Opposition To Tinubu’s Tax Reform Bill
Edwin Clark, a prominent politician and Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) chairman, has criticized the 19 Northern governors for opposing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s tax reform ideas.
Clark stated in a Channels interview that he didn’t think the governors had any justification for denouncing the tax overhaul.
“The tax change needs to be maintained. “This is an essential step for the nation’s development,” he declared.
Although a national conference of 36 governors was planned, Clark said he was surprised that the Northern governors were holding a separate meeting.
Why would the Northern governors call a separate meeting if the 36 governors were already meeting? He remarked, “I don’t think they understand what they are doing.”
“A few people are trying to turn the country around,” he added, urging President Tinubu to lead the nation wisely. This rage and frustration are wrong and will not help anything.
Clark went on to say that for President Tinubu’s initiatives to be successful, the governors must be united and understanding.
