Joseph Aloba, the father of late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, appeared on Wednesday at a Lagos State coroner’s court. She shared information about her son’s relationship with fellow artist Azeez Fashola, aka Naira Marley.

Mr. Aloba has been living with Naira Marley since December 2019. The statement is part of a coroner’s inquest investigating the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s disappearance at the age of 27. The musician passed away on September 12 and was laid to rest the next day.

The singer’s death sparked controversy, leading the Lagos State Government to initiate a coroner’s inquest, which commenced on October 13 at an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court.

In his report, Mr. Aloba has been living with his son for 18 years, although he is not sure of the exact house where his son and Naira Marley lived. He said Mohbad moved when he reached the age of consent to support Naira Marley in her music career.

Mr. Aloba, he last saw his son only three days before his tragic death, and he only saw the picture of his coffin. His last son assured him that he can solve his problems with Naira Marley.

For the assets of the deceased, Mr. Aloba, his son’s property is under the control of his father-in-law. He also said that his daughter-in-law mixed sleeping pills in his son’s diet. According to Mr. Aloba, Mohbad confided in him about disputes over property held by his wife and family.

He expressed his concern about his daughter-in-law’s honesty, saying, “I don’t trust his wife. My son told me that he always puts sleeping pills in his noodles and goes to another room to sleep with an artist signed by Naira Marley in the same house.

Mr. Aloba tried to reconcile Mohbad with his mother. She ended by revealing that her son gifted her a car after they got married.

The coroner, Adedayo Shotobi, expressed condolences to Mr. It is worth noting that Naira Marley and a Lagos man identified as Balogun Eletu were remanded in police custody on October 4 by a Yaba Magistrates Court in Lagos State in connection with the death of Mohbad.
