Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has made an interesting prediction ahead of Wednesday’s Carabao Cup Round of 16 match between Arsenal and Manchester United.
Manchester City and Tottenham have already been eliminated, and both teams are seen as favorites to win the title.
Arsenal play away to West Ham on Wednesday night, while United host Newcastle United.
Carragher said of the game against the Gunners: I think it will be a really close game and Arsenal will make some changes.
“It depends on which team gets eliminated. I’m going to pick West Ham in the penalty shootout because I don’t know what changes it will make with West Ham also playing in the Europa League.”
On United vs. Newcastle: “I’m going to Manchester United. I know United have a lot of injuries at the moment, but if we can get a few guys back, we’re still better than Newcastle.” I think we have a strong player base.
“Both teams will make changes, but I think they have home advantage and I think Manchester United will just hang on. Prediction: Manchester United 1-0 Newcastle.”
